Over 79,000 tourists visit Nepal in January

The surge in tourist arrivals in January 2024, totaling 79,100, signifies a notable increase of 24,026 compared to the same month in 2023. India contributed the highest number of visitors, with 24,139 tourists, showcasing a substantial rise from 16,436 in January 2023. Other significant contributors included China, America, Thailand, South Korea, Bangladesh, and Australia.

Notably, Nepal continues to attract a diverse range of international visitors, with 3,276 tourists from the UK, 2,229 from Bhutan, and 1,568 from Japan also exploring the country during the month. This upward trend in tourist numbers underscores Nepal's enduring appeal as a sought-after destination.
