Internet Advertising will be Brought Under the Ambit of Tax, says Government

The government is going to bring the advertisement done through the internet under the scope of tax. Presenting the policy and program for the financial year 080/81 on Friday, President Ramchandra Paudel said that a proportional system will be implemented in the advertising sector.

Nepali advertising and other transactions through the Internet will be brought under the scope of regulation and taxation," he said.

The government has been saying for some time now that it will bring the advertisements from internet platforms including social networks under the scope of regulation and taxation. Some time ago, the Ministry of Finance also started a study on this matter.

Even though this matter has been repeatedly raised, the government has not been able to decide how to proceed.
